Current Opportunities:

  • Board recruitment is now open! We are currently looking to fill the following four positions. If you are interested, please contact board(AT)vraweb.org for more information by Friday, November 14th.

Treasurer - The Treasurer works with the Membership Services Coordinator to keep the books, take payments, and send payments out to VRA’s members, contractors, instructors, and vendors. They coordinate with VRA’s professional financial services providers, including accountant, banker, and financial advisor. The Treasurer also keeps the board, committees, and broader membership informed of the organizational finances.

Public Relations and Communications Officer - The Public Relations and Communications Officer (the “PR&C Officer”) is responsible for overseeing VRA publications, facilitating communication within the organization, and developing and maintaining VRA’s public relations program. They coordinate with the Membership Services Coordinator, Website Content Manager, and Social Media Manager regularly.

Junior Director of Events and Initiatives - The Junior Director of Events and Initiatives serves one year as Junior Director followed by one year as Senior Director of Events and Initiatives. The Junior Director helps plan and run organization-wide events including the Annual Conference and Regional Workshops in conjunction with the Senior Director of Events and Initiatives, local committees, and hired consultants.

Officer - The Officer is a special board appointment made to run projects outside the general duties of named board roles. Currently, this position focuses on assisting conference planning and Board recruitment. It serves one year as Officer followed by one year as Junior Director of Events.

  • Equitable Action Committee (EAC)

Co-Chair - The Equitable Action Committee (EAC) is looking for a new Co-Chair! Co-Chair duties include collaborating to set the agenda for monthly meetings, helping plan and run Community Hour events and conference sessions, advocating for DEIBA+ issues within our organization and the greater visual resources professional community, etc. Please email ea(AT)vraweb.org if you are interested or would like more information.

New Members - The EAC is looking for members who are interested in supporting an equitable, diverse, accessible, and inclusive association and profession. Please add your email to our Membership Feedback Form to be sent the zoom link for our next monthly committee meeting.

    Travel Awards Committee

Co-Chairs & Members - The Travel Awards Committee is seeking two new co-chairs and/or additional committee members. TA has a unique cadence—you will be busiest two weeks per year when you vet applications, the rest of the year is largely downtime. Co-chairs are responsible for writing annual/mid-year reports and budget requests, confirming donor funds, managing yearly application and guideline updates, facilitating the vetting and awards process, presenting the awards at the conference, and following up with applicants. Enjoy supporting your fellow colleagues in their professional development! Contact travelawards(AT)vraweb.org for more information!
